Tummy time does NOT mean you have to force your baby to push through and cry just to get the box checked.⁣ Tummy time does NOT mean that your baby has to stay on their tummy for 10-15 minutes at a time. ⁣
⁣Tummy time does NOT mean time spent playing on their back, side, or upright is bad! ⁣

Here are some fun ways to make sure Tummy Time is a no cry zone and to keep your little one interested and engageged as they work to strenghten their little muscles!

Water Mat:

This high contrast water mat has patterns and brightly colored moving shapes that are a surefire way to get your baby rocking and rolling with their belly down!

High contrast images help:
- Stimulate structural and functional visual development
- Increase learning and focus
- Improve motivation for movement

Water Tray:

This can be done when babe is easily holding head up for several minutes and propping confidently on forearms in tummy time! Take a sheet pan from your kitchen and add just enough water for your baby to splash around in. You can add little toys or other items to hold their attention as well!

DIY Sensory Bags:

Babe can do this at any age but will probably be most interested after 12 weeks of age! Use whatever you have laying around the house!

A few tips:
- Seal the edges of the ziplock with a layer of tape
- Remove any excess air from the bag before laying it down so it’s easier for them to lay on/manipulate
- Remove the ziplock logo for better sensory viewing with rubbing alcohol and rinsing with water
